High ambient temps can contribute in a major way to high CPU core temps. That should disable all the "green" power saving stuff that causes Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 swings in Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 and voltages that can interfere with overclocking and cause instability. Because your temps are so high I would not suggest you do that yet. Nice little board I have been running this a while now so can give my thoughts.
I wanted to downsize to a smaller system whilst still having plenty of punch. I coupled this with an AMD piledriver which this handsomely overclocked to 4.
There are only 2 downsides, and they are very slight. The north bridge heatsink is quite Asus M5A78L-M/USB3. In the PCI-X1 slot I run a soundblaster card and if you have a long card then it can touch the heatsink along the edge.
I resolved this by sticking a little sticky dot over the exposed sound card solderings on the back to isolate it. Great board for the price!
